The culture of Latgale cannot be imagined without ceramics. Beautiful clay sculptures and pottery for a hundreds of years have been a part of Latgalian life.

Daugavpils clay art center is a place, where you can learn about both – traditional Latgalian ceramics and the newest tendencies in clay art. It’s interesting that nowadays it’s the only place in Latvia where you can find information about hardened Baltic raku ceramics – it’s prepared in fermented ray liquid.
